About the author of Vissarion Belinsky - the famous Russian writer, literary critic, philosopher and publicist. Vissarion Grigoryevich Belinsky was born on May 30 in the Sveaborg fortress in Finland, where his father, the naval doctor Grigory Belinsky served. Soon the family moved to Chebar, and the boy entered the district school, and later - to the Penza gymnasium. Already in childhood, his great love for reading was manifested, the first attempts to compose stories and ballads belong to the same time.
Upon reaching the eighteen years, Vissarion became a student of the Faculty of Word of Moscow University, where he got down with Herzen, Ogarev and Stankevich. In the third year of Belinsky’s training, they excluded from the university for the creation and distribution of seditious drama in Dmitry Kalinin prose. To earn a living, the young man took up translations from French, began to give lessons.
The beginning of this literary activity of the future critic was the article “Literary Dreams. Elegy in prose ”, printed in the year in the magazine" Rumor ". The article made a strong impression on readers-according to Belinsky’s random writers, it was a smart, thorough historical review of Russian literature.
