Daria Prokopyeva Biography
VK teacher of the Chinese language and a graduate of the Pacific State University Daria Prokopyeva is the winner of the scholarship contest of the year and a participant in two schools of the fund. In an interview, Daria talks about what role the competition played in achieving her personal and professional goals. Daria, in what direction did you study at the university and why did you choose it?
How is your professional path now? I studied at the Pacific State University in the direction of "Linguistics". The first language is Chinese, the second is English.
In the same direction, I entered the magistracy, where my interaction with the fund began. I graduated from the university two years ago - during my studies in the magistracy, a professional focus finally shifted to teaching. I chose the role of a teacher and a mentor - I teach Chinese. You have become the winner of the scholarship contest of the year. Why did you decide to participate?
From school, I really loved to participate in competitions. No one directed me, I always showed the initiative myself, realizing that competitions give me a lot of useful skills. Preparations for the scholarship contest have impressed me from the very beginning: when you need to combine all your resources to submit an application, this very mobilizes and reveals its own potential.
The competition also contributes to reflection: you understand what has already achieved, in which direction you want to move on, you reflect on the future, about your place in this world. I also came to the scholarship competition at will, we can say that at my university I was a pioneer. The competition gives many opportunities to study itself and acquire new skills.
In addition, this is a great way to declare yourself a wide audience. How did you prepare for the competition, what goals were set for yourself when you have been applicable? What was especially significant for you or memorable in the selection process? Of course, from the very beginning I wanted to win. In such competitions, the percentage of winners is high, so she made a decision confidently.
First, it was necessary to go through the correspondence stage: to present past experience, prepare an essay, confirm your relevant activities. In general, it is impossible not to prepare for participation in the competition, because our competencies are formed throughout life and all past experience is formed in the competitive application. In the year, the second stage was online, but communication was the same as in personal meetings: it was necessary to join dialogs and participate in a polemic.
At this stage, there are leaders, the most purposeful participants who can difficult to listen to others, compromise, concede and cooperate. But this is very important: the second stage is also brought up by understanding of its weaknesses and qualities that it would be nice to pump. For me, the whole process of participation in the competition was extremely interesting and unusual.
Everything was thought out to the smallest detail and organized at the highest level. As a teacher, I always try to notice such moments, so the format of holding inspired me. The participants themselves were interesting. Not everyone became scholarships, but absolutely everything - people are smart and interesting. It was very pleasant to communicate with them and feel like a part of the community.
Only for this is already worth participating in the competition. What emotions did you experience when you found out that you were among the winners? How did the victory in the competition have influenced you in a personal or professional plan? Due to the difference in time zones about my victory, I found out at night. I was written by another participant with whom we were in the same team and supported each other.
This, by the way, is an important feature of the fund community - everyone supports each other and can sincerely enjoy others. Emotions went through: joy, understanding that it was all not just like that, gratitude for the high assessment. The School of the Potanin Foundation is a great line in the resume that will remain there for life. In addition to obvious advantages, victory gives self -confidence.
A competition is generally an incentive for the development of its best skills. The ability to be a leader, self -presentation skills and stress resistance - all this is very important for any professional path. In addition, together with the status of a scholarship, you get new connections, involvement in the community. Another valuable opportunity for me was participation in the fund's school.
This is a cool project that allows you to study the protected territories of Russia not as a tourist, but in a volunteer status. And then - to tell everyone around how important this is, because environmental education plays a large role in the development of a sustainable society. You participated at once in two schools in the fund, which took place in the years in the new volunteer programs for the Fund.
What did each of the schools remember? The first time I went to North Ossetia, to the Alania National Park, where we stayed for about two weeks. I was struck by the breadth and wealth of Caucasian nature. I was born in the Siberian region, not far from Lake Baikal. In Alania, I managed to make sure how much Russia is multifaceted.Together with the staff of the park, we conducted an environmental action, cleared paths on the border with Georgia.
On these paths you can meet a leopard, a mountain deer - real wildlife is incredibly delighted. Last year, the Foundation school was held in the Chelyabinsk region, among the Ural mountains. The conditions were different, but no less impressive: we lived in nature, prepared food at the stake, participating in the environmental initiatives of the Taganai National Park, which also brought a lot of impressions.
This is an unforgettable experience and great value. Did the experience of volunteer activities affect you? From school, I participated in volunteer camps, in the Baikal Forum. I have long understood that you need to take care of nature - this is the responsibility of every person and citizen. Only in this way can we preserve the beauty of our country.
The fund's school gave me an additional understanding of its responsibility and resource to share this with its students, colleagues and acquaintances. I hope, thanks to my experience, they will also think about their role in caring for ecology. Could you share your professional or creative plans? There are many plans, and the most diverse. I decided on my professional field of activity - I want to develop in the field of education.
If we talk about research, there is a desire to enter graduate school. There are also a lot of project ideas, it would be nice to find for all this time! The Potanin Foundation stimulates the scholarships to continue the trajectory of the development of volunteer projects. I know that there are professional development contests that give motivation for important and necessary matters.
In this direction, I also plan to develop and in the future I will necessarily accept participation in the contests of the fund. What tips can you give to other students who want to take part in the scholarship competition? The main advice to everyone who thinks about participation in the competition is not afraid of anything. Sometimes we ourselves do not fully understand what we possess the capabilities, we are afraid that there is not enough strength or resources.
It is necessary to try it. At first it seems that victory in the competition is a huge goal, which is difficult to approach. But, as they say, not gods burn pots. We must take and do - only in this case you can succeed. Other news.
